Trade Globally
Now
that you have taken the decision to trade globally, what are
the challenges that may result? Well language is certainly
difficult if you have a 1000 page website and your customer in
South America or France cannot read it. You can of course get
your website translated into the main languages of English,
Spanish and Chinese as this will cover a large proportion of
the globe. Be careful about using translation software as in
most cases it is poor, and does not really return very accurate
results.
Another challenge of trading globally is
physical distribution. If you are selling software or an
E-book this is not a problem, but if you are sending a
physical product around the world (unless it is very light)
then you will have to seriously consider shipping fees. A
more cost effective solution may be to appoint a distributor
for your product or drop ship (they send out the product in
your name, you take the order) another companies (similar)
product.
As mentioned previously you need to think
globally, the above challenges can easily be overcome or you
could simply focus on a whole new direction that works well
for the global market.
Remember that the Internet is a Global market,
and you only need a very small percentage of interest
globally for your website to become successful.
