Research Markets

Now you need to research your markets that is decide upon what subject to have for your Global Offshore Internet Business. The best way of going about this is to start making lists, research the subject and gradually scale down your lists until you can make an informed decision as to what subject to use for your business.

You do not necessarily need to know the subject well, but if is something you have an interest in or are passionate about, you will do much better. Why? Well you will persevere and not give up because you like the subject.

So we have set out how we find subjects to focus on, we suggest you follow this course of action:

  1. Write down all the subjects that interest you. Take your time over this, preferably over a couple of days. Write them all down, even obscure ideas.
  2. Break down your list into sub-categories of subjects such as Gardening to: organic gardening, garden furniture, disabled gardening, biological pest control etc you get the idea
  3. If you have written this information on a document on your computer you can copy and paste each word into www.google.com so that you can search for each search term (i.e. main subjects such as gardening and sub categories such as biological pest control
  4. Once you have searched in Google at the top of the page you will notice the number of users searching that key phrase for example gardening over 43 million, whereas biological pest control 3 million
  5. Cancel out everything less than 500,000 hits and beyond 20 million hits. These subjects (search terms) either do not have enough interest to be worthwhile, or have so much competition that, it would be very difficult to compete with them and dominate the market
  6. Once you have your “short” list carefully consider each subject, the global prospect of each, the ways you could set up multiple revenue streams. Look at the competion and see if you can find out their weaknesses: Email questions, have an open mind.

Ultimately you have to decide upon the subject for your website yourself. Ideally your main search term/subject should be between 1-5 million hits, subjects below or above this are still worth considering, depending on the possible revenue streams. Now remember this point, any website can make money and turn over a regular profit. It is true, but so many people simply build a website, it gets left, that’s it. It costs them money rather than makes them money. Any website can make money; it is simply a case of doing the right things in a logical order, and looking and implementing multiple income streams.

You should not really be looking for a Niche market, you are looking for a subject that has more traffic than a niche market, but is still possible to dominate with some work. Also consider the global reach of your subject or how you could expand globally in time.
